I. Citizen Comments
Yaiqueth Jones, 2009 Jefferson Avenue, expressed opposition to proposed taxicab changes, i.e. insurance increase, GPS requirement, limit in number of cabs. Please table recommendations.
Mr. John Procyson, 305 Normandy Lane, NN, addressed economic development; i.e. AREVA; Continental AG, laid off 1/3 of workforce; Canon VIRGINIA, has fewer employees; Move from Ft. Monroe to Ft. Eustis. Ashton Symantic, delayed Walmart, failed projects.
City Council - 4/22/2008, Charles Allen quoted. CM is responsible for employees. Citizens elected Council, who is responsible for fiduciary responsibility, i.e. Shipyard Project - latest example of Council’s failure to do its homework.
Do what is right for all citizens.
Mr. Wail Eisa, Chair of Associated Cabs, serves on Taxi Advisory Board, address proposed changes to govern cab industry - some sound, some not; and would hurt the citizens and companies. Disagree with the following: $10 fee to NWIA, 10 yr. limit on cabs, increase in insurance. Asked for a seat at the table when proposals are discussed.
Mr. Robert Williamson, Associated Cabs, Taxi Advisory Board member, Tries to provide good quality services. Think about poor people being served. Recommendations are unfair. Asked Council to
Mr. Michael Zwayled, 19 Maple Avenue, NN, commented on proposed changes by Ground Transportation Board.
Mr. Hassan Ali, asked Council to discuss proposed changes to Taxi Advisory Board.
Dr. Angela Herring, 11 Digges Drive, NN, Commented regarding the new Prescription Drug Card.
Mr. John Vaughan, 5 Rexford Drive, commented on proposed changes to taxi cab industry.
Mr. Joe Crippen, 385 Deputy Lane, NN, expressed concern about proposed changes to taxi cab regulations.
Ms. Wanda Curtis Artis, commented on negative impact of proposed changes to taxicab guidelines and regulations.

City Council - 4/22/2008, Charles Allen quoted. CM is responsible for employees. Citizens elected Council, who is responsible for fiduciary responsibility, i.e. Shipyard Project - latest example of Council’s failure to do its homework.
Do what is right for all citizens.
Mr. Wail Eisa, Chair of Associated Cabs, serves on Taxi Advisory Board, address proposed changes to govern cab industry - some sound, some not; and would hurt the citizens and companies. Disagree with the following: $10 fee to NWIA, 10 yr. limit on cabs, increase in insurance. Asked for a seat at the table when proposals are discussed.
