Shirley Spencer, commented on real estate tax relief. Suggested the form be modified.
Priscillia Burnett, attempted to get resolution from NNPD. No Checks and Balances; but self-serving. Asked Council help to achieve checks/balances in NNPD.
Melissa Zoros, 6 Shapiro Court, NN, Requesting sidewalk in Hidenwood neighborhood.
John Procyson, 3 Normandy Lane, NN, complained about City Council, who is squandering millions of dollars to purchase property for the Apprentice School. Do not buy the land! Put the Apprentice School on the City's property. Council spends thousands going to meetings, HHB. None have ever submitted a written report. Tables for Council at charitable events. Passed with no discussion. $2,000 per person. It is criminal. Pay for it yourself.
Mike Minarik, 114 Linbrook Dr., NN, recv'd request for bid. Deadline passed. If City is serious, give reasonable time for someone to respond, unless it will be sole source.
Wail Eisa, commented on proposed changes to Taxi Board guidelines compared to codes/guidelines related to vehicles for hire. Playing field not level.
J. New Business and Councilmember Comments
1. City Manager - Heavy rain over the weekend put stress on the drainage systems, which he will evaluate and report back to City Council. Taxi cab regulations were sent back to staff. City sold General Obligation Bonds today and sustained its outstanding bond rating. Acknowledged the work of the Departments of Budget, Finance, and Development.
2. City Attorney - Next City Council meeting will be held August 9, 2011 at which time a Public Hearing will be held regarding city-wide redistricting.
