I. Citizen Comments on Matters Germane to the Business of City Council
Dr. Reginald Dawkins, Triumph Christian Church, NN, voice for the helpless, commented on disparity and deplorable conditions in Newport News.
Bring about a healthier community. The voice of the voiceless.
Mr. Andrew Shannon, addressed state of emergency because of crime and violence in the SE Community. Requested a State of Emergency be declared. Addressed lack of leadership and apathy in the City of NN.
Mr. Antonio Thompson, at odds with leadership in the church. Believe in right to bear arms. Urged citizens support the NN Police Foundation. Thanked for opportunity to apply for service to a Board.
Mr. Pete Newman, advocated transparency and accountability. Thanked Mr. Antonio Thompson for his remarks. Let people come forward and voice their opinions. Would love to speak to Council about tax issues.
Ms. Edna Davis, addressed concern of violence in NN. Commented on disconnect between City Council and the citizens.

Thought SCLC had attended Work Session. There is a plan to address youth and gang violence.
Commit one day of Service.
Rona Aultshuler, Walk/Ride to end Altzheimers.

Thanks to Ms. Golden Bethune Hill and all she does for Community Free Clinic.
Youth & Gang Violence discussion was great.
